Alicante is an unsupported bike adventure from the Mediterranean to the inland Sierras of Alicante and Valencia with a fix route of approximately 950km and 17.000 meters of elevation.
Start is Alicante City, goes through stunning landscapes and several mountain areas like Sierra de Aitana, Sierra de Mariola, Sierra de Benicadell up to Valencia and back to Alicante.

unsupported entails that you are on your own. Help and support can be used, once it’s equally available to everyone. For example with a mechanical issue, no other rider should help you. Go for the nearest bikeshop, fix it and get back on track. Bring your tools and spare parts you might need to fix your bike on the go.

You must follow the official route provided. If the way is blocked by unexpected obstacles (such as roadworks, landslides, or fallen trees), you may leave the track temporarily but must rejoin it as soon as possible.

Alicante900 is an adventure, not a race. It’s about embracing a challenge that goes far beyond everyday life — a test of mental strength, resilience, and the will to keep going when your mind tells you to stop. It’s about discovering what lies beyond your limits. That’s the true spirit of Alicante900.

Route Information
The complete Alicante900 route will be finalized by the end of September 2026.
The final GPS file will be provided to all registered participants one week before the start of the event.

Please note that minor route changes may occur due to weather conditionsroadworks, or safety considerations.
Any updates will be communicated to participants in advance whenever possible.

Any type of bike may be used, except e-bikes.
We recommend a bike with tires of at least 28 mm and a suitable gear ratio for steep gradients of up to 20%.
The route is mostly paved (approximately 4% unpaved) and can be tackled on a road bike.

Yes, insurance is mandatory for all participants.
You must have a valid liability, accident, health, and death insurance policy covering the full duration of the event.
This insurance must also include emergency extraction and repatriation coverage.

The Alicante900 organization does not provide any form of insurance and cannot be held liable for any direct or indirect damages, injuries, or losses incurred during the event.

Participants may be required to present valid proof of insurance prior to the start of the event. Failure to provide such documentation may result in exclusion from participation.

Don’t worry — you’re in Spain, where you’ll find an excellent infrastructure of hotels, guesthouses, and other accommodation options, as well as plenty of places to refuel and restock along the route.

Note: Wild camping or bivvying is not permitted under the regulations of the Provinces of Alicante and Valencia.

No, advance booking is not available before the official release date.
Participants can begin booking accommodation from 16 October 2026 at 10:00 AM.

This rule ensures equal booking opportunities for all registered riders and helps maintain fairness in the event’s self-supported format.

In case of a mechanical problem, riders must go to the nearest bike shop, carry out the necessary repairs, and then rejoin the official route.

Participants should carry essential tools and spare parts, as self-repair may be required at any point along the route.
